AMS recognizes JONATHAN (JOHNNY) CAUGHRON as he celebrated his fifth anniversary with the company this week on January 5th. Johnny started his career at AMS working in the Technical Services Group, performing field testing and various research tasks for the Cable Group. He eventually transitioned full-time to the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Group and works on EMC laboratory qualifications and troubleshooting. His job entails performing EMC mapping and troubleshooting at nuclear power plants, in addition to lab qualifications and associated test plans and reports. He is also a part of one of the groups which supported the instrumentation and control system commissioning at the Sanmen and Haiyang AP1000s in China.
Born and raised in Maryville, Tennessee, Johnny attended Maryville College and played on the football team as a middle linebacker and tight end. He transferred to the University of Tennessee where he completed his BS degree in Electrical Engineering. Johnny moved to Knoxville after starting at AMS. He and his wife of 4 years, Patsy, met during a blind date set up by his brother and sister-in-law. Together, they like to travel and visit new places, including different national parks. They have fostered many dogs and cats through rescues and shelters and have adopted 4 cats named Bo, Dolly, Olive, and Sunny. In his free time Johnny enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking, and playing volleyball and golf.
