Employee Spotlight: Eric Cooper

AMS recognizes ERIC COOPER as he marks his 15TH YEAR with AMS this month. Since joining the company in 2005, Eric has been a vital team player to the engineering group. As Assistant Laboratory Supervisor for AMS’s Technical Services Group (TSG), Eric’s role at AMS is two-fold: he performs safety testing at nuclear power plants and assists building hardware for AMS testing equipment; he also has served as the company’s primary IT person for many years, troubleshooting server issues and ensuring that the company’s computer network is always operating at peak efficiency.

Prior to joining AMS, Eric worked at Philips Consumer Electronics for 10 years. He received his Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Electronics at ITT Technical Institute. Born and raised in Knoxville, Eric lived for some time in Tampa, Florida, where he finished college before returning to Tennessee.

Eric married his high school sweetheart Melanie (after dating for six years). They have been married for 25 years and have two children—Seth (age 21) and Erica (age 17)—and a fox terrier dog named Sailer. In his spare time, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, riding motorcycles, reading, playing disc golf with his son, and watching his daughter do gymnastics.

AMS thanks Eric for all his excellent hard work and dedicated support and service to the company these past 15 years.
